The most important virtual currency in the market, Bitcoin, was able to capture the attention of several investors around the world. This time, Neuquén Province in Argentina, has formed its investment club in cryptocurrencies.
Cryptocurrency Investment Club in Neuquén
Neuquén is one of the provinces that conform the Patagonia region in the South of Latin America, and has a population of over 550,000 habitants. And now, it has a group of investors specialized in cryptocurrencies.
During the last year, with the exponential growth that virtual currencies had, Neuquén has experienced an increased interest for the market. The number of businesses and start-ups has also grown. Indeed, there is a group of bitcoin buyers that helps interested individuals in purchasing the famous virtual currency and enter the market.
Another important activity related to virtual currencies is mining. There are individuals that use computers specifically designed for mining Bitcoin and that keep the system working.
Jesús Chitty, fundador de Blockchain Argentina y vecino de Neuquén, comentó al respecto:
“I am from Venezuela and I lived in Spain, so I started with this [Bitcoin] as a simple way of transferring funds and, after it, I got interested in Blockchain technology.”
At the same time, another person from the province, Verónica Boada, is a member since some months of the Bitcoin club. She says that there are 40 participants from different age groups that arrange meetings to discuss about the latest developments in the crypto world.
“Those who deeply believe in this are the youngsters,” commented Julián Mauro, founder of the Bitcoin Neuquén website. “We, as bitcoiners, are in love of this technology because it gives you more freedom, no banks or governments in the middle.”
According to the latest statistic available that measure the number of active wallets and transactions, there is a cryptocurrency investor every 1,000 inhabitants.
In Argentina there are several cryptocurrency exchanges that allow users to buy and sell different virtual currencies. The most important are Bitcoin (BTC), Ethereum (ETH), Ripple (XRP), Bitcoin Cash (BCH) and Litecoin (LTC).
At the moment of writing this article, Bitcoin was traded around $6,583 USD.
