Most of us know what cryptocurrencies are and how they have been expanding all over the world. An important number of individuals entered the market right after the incredible bull run experienced back in 2017. In December 2017, Bitcoin reached $20,000 and the whole market was operating positively.
But it is important to mark that in Spain, just one in ten individuals has at least one cryptocurrency, and there is people that will never buy.
Slow Expansion in Spain
In Spain, Bitcoin has been growing, but not at the rates that some individuals would have desired. Even after growing exponentially in 2017, there is still a lot of people that rejects the famous coin. It is important to mention that more than two thirds of Spanish citizens (67%) know or heard about virtual currencies. What is is also surprising is the fact that just 10 percent of the respondents has at least one cryptocurrency.
This is a very important and interesting information, because it lets us see that Spain is one of the three countries in Europe with more knowledge about cryptocurrencies. Spain is in the third position after Rumania and Turkey. Furthermore, 41 percent of those who answered the interview stated that they believe that Bitcoin will grow in the next twelve months.
And this is something that could clearly happen. Since the moment this interview was done, Bitcoin has increased over 20%. As the study conducted by ING shows, almost half of the European society (46%), believes that it will invest in virtual currencies in the future. However, 23 percent of Spanish people said that they would never invest in cryptocurrencies.
Half of those interviewed in Europe admitted that they do want to change the way in which they process payments. Additionally, 30 percent could use the famous virtual currency to pay for goods and services. Just 15 percent of those interviewed answered that they would accept to receive part of their salary in Bitcoin or any other crypto in the market.
At this moment, the famous cryptocurrency is being traded around $8,050 dollars and has a market capitalization of $139 billion dollars.
