CoinText.io Launches in Argentina and Turkey
Due to the fact that these two countries have experienced increased volatility in their currencies, they have started to embrace virtual currencies. CoinText.io announced that it will enable sending money to mobile phone numbers or Bitcoin Cash wallet addresses.
It is important to mention that CoinText works without requiring an internet connection, applications, passwords or accounts. That means that it is very easy for newcomers to understand how the system works and how to use it. At the same time, users will also gain exposure to Bitcoin Cash.
The service works for iPhones, Samsung phones, Nokia and many other devices capable of sending and receiving SMS messages with telecom services.
According to CoinText founder and CTO Vin Armani, several individuals in these two countries will have the possibility to gain access to virtual currencies.
On the matter, he commented:
“Bitcoin is better money. Many Turks and Argentinians already understand this due to high inflation. We are excited to provide tools to help them use cryptocurrency.”
During 2018, the Argentine Peso (ARS) and Turkish lira (TRY) have experienced the biggest losses. The peso lost over 60% of its value and the lira 40%. Individuals in these countries stopped trusting their national currency and are searching for new solutions for their problems.
“Before CoinText, you had to download a software wallet or join an exchange to get your first cryptocurrency,” said Armani. “And to onboard your friends, you had to convince them to do the same process. Now you can just text money to their phone.”
Using the system is very simple. CoinText users are able to control their wallets with just an SMS and simple commands such as Balance or Receive depending on what they want to do.
Additionally, it is possible to send funds to phone numbers all over the world after entering a 2FA code. Transactions are settled on the Bitcoin Cash Blockchain, that continues to expand all over the world.
If you are in Argentina and you want to get a wallet, users need to send an SMS with the words COINTEXT INICIAR to 11011. In Turkey, users need to send an SMS with the word BASLA to 90-850-540-0651.
